Show Notes

Gissel Guzman of Southside Tucson is Nopalinda.  Nopalinda is also the name of Gissel's vegan food business.  Nopalinda believes in changing the way we view veganism one plate at a time.  Gissel (they/them/she/her) is a first-generation immigrant in the U.S. Despite years of uncertainty, and fighting for stability, Nopalinda is grateful to their mom for her sacrifices which taught them how to fight for their dreams.  Their chaotic and nomadic upbringing has been an unusual facet of their background.  Nopalinda tries to bring the global perspectives and influences that they were exposed to from an early age into the recipes they create. Nopalinda (Gissel) is proud of what they've built, not only for themselves, but for the Southern Arizona community.
